When Apple was shipping computers with Intel processors, there were plenty of ways to install Linux on a Mac. But things got a lot trickier when the company began to switch to its own Arm-based processors around six years ago. The folks at the Asahi Linux team have been doing their best to keep up though, offering builds of a Fedora-based GNU\/Linux distro that can be installed on (some) Macs with Apple Silicon.<\/p>\n

But when Apple released macOS 27 earlier this month, users found themselves locked out of the Linux boot volumes on their computers. Now the Asahi team has released a fix both for folks installing Linux for the first time on a Mac, as well as allowing users get back into their existing Linux installs.<\/p>\n

The Asahi Linux team has issued a fix for Macs that failed to dual boot into Linux after upgrading to macOS 27. The fix is now applied by default upon new installation, but you can also use the installer to fix a broken install. asahilinux.org\/2026\/06\/prog\u2026<\/p>\n

The WSJ reports that SpaceX recently showed some investors a prototype for a \u201chandset-like device\u201d with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a slim design, a proprietary OS, and an emphasis on AI.
