The eagle&#8217;s wings were spread wide with 11 stars in the center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>Posts<\/span><span> (<\/span><span>achived<\/span><span>) on\u00a0<\/span><span>social media<\/span><span> (<\/span><span>archived<\/span><span>) alleged that Trump actually placed the eagle on the historic landmark&#8217;s front balcony, known as the Truman Balcony. Some people seemed to believe the claim because of the president&#8217;s penchant for\u00a0<\/span><span>adding gold decor<\/span><span> to the White House and reached out to Snopes to verify whether it was true.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><iframe style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden;\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Ftherobbieharvey%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0N8hExmGTmVMcuKRiFVyF4nD5FYnvsaZJKxL7hTdXeiMS1PGrFd8WfYpRk1nhbuoUl&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=500\" class=\"lazy_load_iframe\" width=\"500\" height=\"590\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It was true that Trump posted (archived) an image of a golden eagle attached to the White House&#8217;s Truman Balcony, with the caption &#8220;A Golden Gift to the White House for its 250th Birthday Year!&#8221; He<span> made the post on June 29, 2026, at 8:23 p.m. ET.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span>However, there was no evidence as of this writing that Trump actually mounted the golden eagle decoration on the balcony. The photo in his post <\/span>was fake and likely created using artificial intelligence software. Therefore, we have rated this claim as false.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">If Trump had added the eagle, journalists at reputable news outlets would have reported on it. That was not the case.
