UK venture capital firm Osney Capital has announced the final close of its oversubscribed debut cybersecurity fund at \u00a360m, marking one of the largest debut seed funds in the UK.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the year since its first close at over \u00a350m, Osney has completed seven investments into early-stage UK cybersecurity companies at pre-seed and seed stage, writing cheques between \u00a3250,000 and \u00a32.5m against a target portfolio of 30 companies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The investments to date span AI security, disinformation detection and software supply chain protection.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Recipients include Refute, a disinformation detection and response platform supporting governments and enterprises to counter coordinated disinformation campaigns; Ploy, an agentic-powered identity governance and administration platform; and Aviel, a threat intelligence platform that gathers actionable data on online fraud activities targeting consumers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fund continues to be supported by a cornerstone commitment from the British Business Bank through its Enterprise Capital Funds (ECF) programme, and is accredited by the UK\u2019s National Security Strategic Investment Fund (NSSIF).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Existing investors have been joined at final close by Imperial College London\u2019s Endowment and Planet First Partners, alongside further commitments from exited UK cyber entrepreneurs and senior leaders from across the cyber and national security communities.<\/span>

Osney says growing geopolitical tensions and rising cyber threats have accelerated demand for sovereign cyber capabilities, creating a significant opportunity for UK cybersecurity companies.<\/span><\/p>\n
