Marconi reportedly demonstrated capabilities central to the Swedish Armed Forces’ requirement for a tactical troposcatter system that is both operationally capable and easy to deploy.<\/p>\n

MONTREAL \u2014 Marconi Technologies announced that it has completed a multi-day troposcatter communications evaluation with F\u00f6rsvarets Materielverk (FMV), the Swedish Armed Forces\u2019 defence materiel authority, reportedly demonstrating sustained, high-throughput connectivity with its Archer troposcatter solution across a 75-kilometre link.<\/p>\n

According to a press release from the company, the evaluation ran June 1\u20135, between Enk\u00f6ping and Arboga, Sweden, where Archer maintained a stable, frequency-diverse link. During the evaluation, Marconi reportedly demonstrated capabilities central to the Swedish Armed Forces\u2019 requirement for a tactical troposcatter system that is both operationally capable and easy to deploy. FMV also validated Archer\u2019s ability to integrate directly with the Swedish Armed Forces\u2019 mobile network node (MKN), enabling operators to connect their own networking equipment and pass traffic over the link.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe results in Sweden reflect what our team has been focused on from the start: building a system that leads in capability without demanding expertise to operate,\u201d said Alain Cohen, CEO of Marconi Technologies. \u201cWhen a two-person crew can establish a beyond-line-of-sight link in under 20 minutes, in demanding terrain, with automatic alignment and near-zero downtime, that changes what\u2019s operationally possible in satellite-denied or degraded environments.\u201d<\/p>\n

Archer is Marconi\u2019s tactical troposcatter terminal, built to try and deliver low-latency links over 200+ km without relying on satellites or fixed network infrastructure. In a press release, Marconi Technologies stated that Archer was also recently selected by the U.S. Army for beyond-line-of-sight communications.<\/p>\n
