A self-described hacker, Pennsylvania’s top elected law enforcement official and the leader of a Fortune 500 company that fended off a cyberattack will be featured guests at Velocity Network’s annual Tech Summit.<\/p>\n

About 400 people are expected to attend the July 9 event at Erie’s Bayfront Convention Center.<\/p>\n

The event will feature appearances by Huntress\u00a0CEO Kyle Hanslovan, Erie Insurance CEO Tim NeCastro and state Attorney General Dave Sunday.<\/p>\n

An engineer and information technology security analyst, Hanslovan has worked for the National Security Agency and served as a cyber technical sergeant in the US Air Force.<\/p>\n

Huntress, a global cybersecurity company, provides cyber protection for a wide range of organizations.<\/p>\n

The summit will begin with a conversation between NeCastro and Brian Marshall, chief information officer of VNET.<\/p>\n

NeCastro will share his insights following an information security incident that took place last June at the Erie-based company. That incident prompted the company to temporarily shut down its computer systems.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we experienced last year is an unfortunate \u2015 but very real \u2015 part of doing business today,\u201d NeCastro said prior to the upcoming summit. “I\u2019m looking forward to sharing how we responded, what we learned, and insights that could help others be better prepared.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sunday, who took office in January of 2025, will talk about how artificial intelligence and cybersecurity threats are affecting businesses across Pennsylvania and what his office is doing to protect people.<\/p>\n

Joel Deuterman, CEO of\u00a0VNET, said this year’s Tech Summit will provide a global view of where technology is heading and how organizations can prepare to grow securely, with AI as a strategic part of their future.<\/p>\n

\u201cAI is evolving so rapidly that much of what we discussed in 2025 is already being reshaped,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
