With so-called Physical AI, which connects digital AI with<br \/>\n  real machines and robots, intelligent systems such as humanoid robots<br \/>\n  can be integrated into real production processes. Following a<br \/>\n  successful deployment with the humanoid robot Figure 02 at BMW Group<br \/>\n  Plant Spartanburg in the USA, the further-developed successor, Figure<br \/>\n  03, will now start at Spartanburg, working on complex sequencing<br \/>\n  applications in logistics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlant Spartanburg is the birthplace of humanoid robotics in BMW<br \/>\n  Manufacturing\u2019s operational day-to-day activities. Having already<br \/>\n  successfully completed a pilot with Figure 02 in our body shop, we are<br \/>\n  now looking forward to deploying Figure 03 for a sequencing use case<br \/>\n  in logistics,\u201d says Ulrich Wieland, Vice President of Production<br \/>\n  Control and Logistics, BMW Manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur 11-month deployment of Figure 02 proved that humanoids are no<br \/>\n  longer lab experiments &#8211; they can be a valuable asset in establishing<br \/>\n  a flexible, reliable manufacturing workforce,\u201d says Brett Adcock,<br \/>\n  Founder &#038; CEO of Figure AI. \u201cWe are excited to continue our work<br \/>\n  in Spartanburg as Figure tackles the complexity of the assembly and<br \/>\n  logistics hall.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The BMW Group already gained important experience with humanoid<br \/>\n  robotics at Plant Spartanburg in 2025. In collaboration with the<br \/>\n  technology company Figure AI, the Figure 02 robot supported the<br \/>\n  production of more than 30,000 BMW X3 vehicles over ten months.
