Pok\u00e9mon Champions is already taking over my life, and the mobile release was only on Wednesday. On June 17,\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon Champions released on iOS and Android, and I\u2019ve been playing it non-stop on my iPhone 17 Pro Max.\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon Champions\u00a0originally released on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 back in April, but I didn\u2019t want to give the title a shot on my Switch Lite, so I waited until the mobile release, and I\u2019m enjoying it even more than I expected.<\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon Champions makes me think that the next evolution for Pok\u00e9mon games is playing them on mobile. Over the past year, I\u2019ve been playing a lot of Pok\u00e9mon ROMs on my phone, so playing Pok\u00e9mon Champions, an official Pok\u00e9mon game on my handset, is almost a dream come true. I love Pok\u00e9mon battles, they\u2019re my favourite aspect of Pok\u00e9mon games. So a game like Champions that focuses on battles is great, but even better that I can play anywhere on my phone \u2014 whether that\u2019s in bed, on my commute, or anywhere else.<\/p>\n

Champions lets you battle with select Pok\u00e9mon from previous games by grabbing them from your Pok\u00e9mon Home. I have all the previous titles, so I had a number of Pok\u00e9mon I could bring into Champions. Because I had more than 30, I needed to purchase box space for C$6.99, but this is all the money I\u2019ve spent on the title. And it\u2019s because I\u2019m indecisive and didn\u2019t want to have to pick specific Pok\u00e9mon to bring into the game. The game also provides people with a limited number of Pok\u00e9mon they can play with if they haven\u2019t amassed a collection over the year. If you\u2019re in this situation, this game might feel a bit \u201cpay to win,\u201d as my partner describes Champions.<\/p>\n

Have you ever played the Pok\u00e9mon Stadium series, or Pok\u00e9mon Battle Revolution? These were Pok\u00e9mon battle simulators on previous Nintendo consoles, and at the time of their launches, they were some of the best ways to battle against one another, and Pok\u00e9mon Champions is no different.<\/p>\n
