T<\/span>ata Group’s electronics subsidiary in India has confirmed it was hit by a cybersecurity incident. This follows media reports that sensitive supplier data, such as specifications for Apple and Tesla, was stolen and posted on the dark web.<\/span><\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Tata Electronics told Agence France-Presse (AFP) that the company found the breach a few weeks ago and moved quickly to contain it.<\/span><\/p>\n

“A few weeks ago, Tata Electronics identified a cybersecurity incident on some of our systems,” the spokesperson said. They also said the company acted immediately and that all business units continued to run as normal.<\/span><\/p>\n

600 gigabytes allegedly stolen<\/h2>\n

Reports on Monday said that more than 600 gigabytes of data, allegedly taken from Tata Electronics, were posted on the dark web. TechCrunch, a technology news outlet, said it found what appeared to be Apple supplier specifications and Tesla manufacturing documents among the files.<\/span><\/p>\n

AFP said it could not independently confirm these claims. Apple and Tesla did not respond to requests for comment.<\/span><\/p>\n
