Back in April, a report claimed that Apple had selected Samsung Display as the exclusive supplier of foldable OLED panels for the device.<\/p>\n<p>According to a new report from the same source, Samsung Display has now received approval to begin OLED panel production after achieving over 80% manufacturing yield.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Alleged iPhone Ultra render (Credit &#8211; FrontPageTech)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The report adds that Samsung Display&#8217;s manufacturing facility in Vietnam has already begun operations. Apple has reportedly asked the company to produce an initial batch of 3 million OLED panels this year.<\/p>\n<p>While an earlier report claimed that Apple would use Samsung Display&#8217;s M14 display stack for its first foldable iPhone, the latest report suggests the company has opted for the newer M16 luminescent material instead.<\/p>\n<p>The M16 stack is reported to deliver higher brightness, improved color reproduction, better power efficiency, and a longer lifespan.
