These are not conscious beings. These are not sentient interlocutors,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She said she sometimes uses AI tools \u201cto format a document here and there,\u201d but does not ask them questions. Whittaker said she is \u201cvery serious\u201d about her thinking and writing, and does not want that process cut off by a system \u201caveraging what\u2019s already out there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her comments fit Signal\u2019s broader position that private communications should not become input for systems built around broad data access.
