A<\/span>rtificial intelligence will reshape warfare by connecting battlefield systems into unified networks capable of analyzing data and recommending decisions faster than humans, the head of Ukraine\u2019s Defense Ministry AI center said in a Reuters <\/span>report<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Danylo Tsvok said Ukraine was already using AI for multiple military functions, including guiding drones toward targets, planning combat operations and analyzing data from Russian missile attacks.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAI will form a new paradigm of warfare. It\u2019s already actively doing so,\u201d Tsvok told Reuters.<\/span><\/p>\n

He predicted that AI systems would eventually be integrated into a single network overseeing the battlefield, potentially creating what he called a \u201cwar of operating systems\u201d between Ukraine and Russia within the next three to five years if the conflict continued.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe system that possesses more data and better understands that data, proposes solutions\u2014that system will gain the advantage over the other,\u201d Tsvok said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ukraine seeks single AI battlefield network<\/span><\/h2>\n

Ukraine\u2019s Defense Ministry established its AI center in March as Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov sought to place artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making at the center of the country\u2019s defense strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ukraine\u2019s military, which numbers about 1 million personnel, already uses AI tools within its command systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tsvok said the long-term objective was to establish a single operating system capable of recommending battlefield decisions at every level, from individual units on the front line to the country\u2019s strategic command.<\/span><\/p>\n

Such a system would accelerate the analysis of information gathered across Ukraine\u2019s 1,200-kilometer (750-mile), front line and provide recommendations to human commanders.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tsvok said the aim was to connect weapons and data systems into \u201cone single living organism that can operate in a coordinated manner.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
