JAKARTA – Apple seems to be getting closer to releasing its first folding iPhone. Citing a report from TechCrunch, Friday, June 12, the clue was found from a hidden file in the iOS 27 beta version for developers found by researcher @M1Astra.<\/p>\n

The findings raise the possibility that Apple could introduce its foldable device at its September launch of new products. If true, it would be Apple’s debut in the foldable phone market, which has been dominated for more than five years by players such as Samsung and Huawei.<\/p>\n

Although it has never released a foldable iPhone, iOS 27 code contains a number of technical references such as foldState, mechanicalAngleDegrees, angleDegrees, and MGGetLogicalDeviceDisplayCount.<\/p>\n

In simple terms, the code indicates that the operating system can recognize whether the device is in a folded position, how large the screen opening angle is, and how many screens the device is using.<\/p>\n

According to TechCrunch, this clue indicates that the folding device will likely run iOS 27, which Apple introduced at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on Monday.<\/p>\n

Compared to Samsung and Huawei, Apple is indeed coming late to the folding phone market. Therefore, expectations for its first product are expected to be very high.<\/p>\n

The main challenge is not just presenting a screen that can be folded. For many users, the convenience of storing a mobile phone in a pocket is also an important factor. An additional screen is interesting, but a device that is too thick can reduce the convenience of daily use.<\/p>\n

Apple has capital from its experience making increasingly thin devices. Last year, the company introduced the Air iPhone with a thickness of only 5.6 millimeters or about the thickness of four dime coins stacked.<\/p>\n
