Plano-based Advanced Integration Technology (AIT)\u2014which describes itself as the world\u2019s largest provider of automation and tooling solutions dedicated to the global aerospace and defense industry\u2014has completed its acquisition of Futuramic Tool & Engineering, a leading aerospace and defense supplier of fixtures, gauges, tooling, machined parts, and facilities equipment. The deal\u2019s scope includes Futuramic\u2019s affiliates Sharp Tooling Solutions and Jordan Tool. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Most recently, Futuramic\u2019s aerospace tooling supported Artemis III core stage integration at the Kennedy Space Center, another step in NASA\u2019s bid to return astronauts to the Moon\u2019s surface. The next-generation assembly approach is being supported by Core Stage Vertical Integration Center\u00a0tooling designed and built by Futuramic in collaboration with\u00a0Boeing.<\/p>\n

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. John Couch, a third-generation owner and operator of Futuramic, will continue to lead Futuramic\u2019s operations along with the existing management team, AIT said.<\/p>\n

\u2018A deep heritage\u2019 of tooling experience<\/h3>\n

Founded in 1955, Futuramic is a leader in providing automation and tooling solutions for the space launch sector and the broader commercial aerospace and defense markets. The company has over 600,000 square feet of facility space with a world-class collection of large-scale fabrication and large 5-axis machining capabilities, AIT noted.<\/p>\n

AIT Founder and CEO Ed Chalupa said Futuramic and its affiliates \u201cadd a deep heritage of tooling expertise and an extremely talented team to the AIT portfolio of companies.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe combined scale and expertise of the two companies will be able to provide rapid deployment to our customers\u2019 most complex automation and tooling needs,\u201d Chalupa added in a…<\/p>\n
