The engagement covers cybersecurity assurance for safety-critical railway systems, including signalling, train control, rolling stock, and power supply, as well as supporting electromechanical and digital infrastructure. The project highlights the growing need to secure increasingly interconnected rail environments where operational technology, safety systems, and digital platforms converge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under terms of the exclusive contract, DNV\u2019s rail assurance, advisory and digital services team, in collaboration with engineering company EQP, will support the government-owned Trust for the Development of the Mass Transit System of the Dominican Republic (FITRAM) with proactive cyber risk management services for the monorail, the first of its kind in the Caribbean.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recently integrated into DNV\u2019s new Industrial Services business unit, the rail team supports customers to safely manage critical assets and address transformations in the railway sector, strengthening systems against evolving digital threats. Designed to ease travel congestion for Santiago de los Caballeros\u2019 population and reduce urban commute costs by 30%, the under-construction monorail will cover a length of more than 13km with 14 overground stations located across the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DNV\u2019s cybersecurity services will ensure the monorail system aligns with national and international cyber regulations and industry best practices. DNV\u2019s activities are aligned with leading international railway and industrial cybersecurity standards, including TS 50701, IEC 62443 and the emerging IEC 63452 framework.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Santiago de los Caballeros monorail is a groundbreaking project that will reduce congestion in the city and bring down travel costs for commuters.
