While students enjoy summer break, Trigg County Schools is spending the offseason focused on improving campus safety and security.<\/p>\n

Superintendent Rex Booth says several projects are underway across the district, including the installation of a new emergency alert system, upgrades to building access controls, and continued work on the district\u2019s gymnasium elevator project.<\/p>\n

click to download audioThe system also identifies the locations of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers and automated external defibrillators (AEDs).<\/p>\n

Booth said the district is also standardizing its door access and lockdown systems across all school buildings. He said the school currently operates with two different security platforms, creating inconsistencies between campuses.
