While the Intel XPU Manager started off supporting the original Intel Data Center Flex Series and Max Series GPUs, newer versions of the software have only officially supported the Arc Pro B-Series (Battlemage) graphics cards.

With Intel XPU Manager 2.0 the codebase is now streamlined and improved to avoid code duplication between Windows and Linux. Beyond the better cross-platform handling, there is also less third-party dependencies for using the XPU Manager..

The unified Intel XPU Manager 2.0 also has support in XPU-SMI for displaying information on network cards (NICs) in addition to GPUs, a new dashboard view for the xpu-smi command, and more. The XPU Manager daemon is also rewritten from scratch using the Go programming language.

The Intel XPU Manager 2.0 release also adds support for the OpenTelemetry data format with the rewritten daemon. With OpenTelemetry support they are aiming for seamless integration with other monitoring solutions. Interestingly though they have decided to retire their REST API and they alsoi don’t have the XPU Manager C API working for this initial 2.0.0 release.

The Intel Arc Pro B50 / B60 / B65 / B70 are the only officially supported graphics cards with Intel XPU Manager 2.0.0 while on the Linux distribution side it’s Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and Ubuntu 26.04 LTS or in the Redmond camp it’s Microsoft Windows Server 2022 with only limited support compared to Linux. It’s great seeing Intel continuing to invest in the XPU Manager as it will likely play a big…

Source

Intel XPU Manager 2.0 Overhauls Windows & Linux Management For Arc Pro GPUs https://www.phoronix.com/news/Intel-XPU-Manager-2.0 Publish…

[48
71,79
post-269601","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-linux","tag-linux","tag-ubuntu
