A dead phone battery is usually just an inconvenience. Apple anticipated this problem, and the solution it built into Find My is more capable than most people realize. iPhones running iOS 15 or later stay detectable by the Find My network for several hours after the battery hits zero, broadcasting a low-power Bluetooth signal that nearby Apple devices can pick up and relay without anyone knowing it’s happening.<\/p>\n

Apple Find My and Find My Network are different, which can be confusing. While Find My is the name of an app, the Find My Network is what allows you to locate your device when it’s offline, turned off or low on power.
