Amid juggling bankruptcy and possible closure, Jackson Hospital & Clinic is now dealing with a “network security incident.”<\/p>\n

Last week, Jackson Hospital announced that it is in “desperate financial straits; we’re running out of money,” and as a result, is seriously considering officially closing at the end of June. The hospital says that because Blue Cross Blue Shield has refused to “fairly” reimburse its team in comparison to other local hospitals, it is being forced to consider this course of action.<\/p>\n

On June 8, the hospital sent out communication about “suspicious activity” within its network.<\/p>\n

“An investigation is currently underway,” a statement from the hospital says. “Third-party cybersecurity and digital forensic specialists are involved. This appears to have been a limited event with no loss of data. There has been no impact to patient care.”<\/p>\n

The parameters of the suspicious activity were not specifically defined in the release, and no other information was immediately available.<\/p>\n
