Consumer Privacy User Profile Litigation settlement, the second checks are being sent out only to those who already cashed their initial payments.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The second distribution was approved by the Court to redistribute uncashed funds from the initial distribution to settlement class members who successfully cashed their initial payment,&#8221; the website states. <\/p>\n<p>Emails released Thursday told users they would receive a notice three to four days before their second payment is issued. <\/p>\n<p>Some have received their notice already, with payments going out as early as Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>The 2023 settlement was reached with Facebook&#8217;s parent company, Meta Platforms Inc. following a lawsuit, which alleged Facebook made users&#8217; data available to third parties without their permission and claimed the platform did not monitor or enforce third-party access to the data they received. The settlement was reached to &#8220;to avoid the costs and risks of a trial&#8221; and to allow settlement class members to receive payments, according to court documents.
