Apple is reportedly preparing to launch its first foldable iPhone later this year, and alleged leaked dummy units of the device recently gives a peek into what the device could look like. Fresh images shared by well-known leaker Sonny Dickson show a more realistic version of the rumored device, including displays, cameras and even a visible crease on the folding screen. Unlike many foldable smartphones currently on the market, the rumored device, often referred to as the iPhone Ultra, is expected to feature a shorter and wider design. The form factor is said to provide an iPad-like experience when unfolded.<\/p>\n

Apple\u2019s first foldable iPhone is likely to be called iPhone Fold. The latest dummy units shows both the outer and inner displays, making the device appear closer to a finished product than previous mockups.The leaked images show an edge-to-edge outer display with a centered front camera cutout, a design that would be a first for Apple. The internal display appears to place the front-facing camera toward the left side.On the back, the device features a horizontal camera bar that houses a dual-camera setup. According to Dickson, the foldable iPhone may launch only in a white colour option.The dummy units also show a faint crease running through the middle of the inner display.Reports suggest Apple has been working to reduce the visibility of the crease through the use of a structural glass mid-frame and improvements in optically clear adhesive (OCA) technology. However, the crease is still expected to be present. One rumour claims it could be around 0.15mm deep with a fold angle of less than 2.5 degrees.Since dummy units are generally created by accessory makers ahead of a product launch, the final version could differ from what is seen in the leaked images.<\/p>\n
