The announcement says the Tokenomics Foundation will operate in close partnership with the FinOps Foundation and aims to define how organizations measure and benchmark token efficiency across models and vendors. Jim Zemlin, CEO of the Linux Foundation, is quoted saying, &#8220;Measuring and benchmarking token efficiency across different models and vendors is critical to how organizations make business decisions.&#8221; The release cites projections that global token usage is expected to multiply <strong class=\"font-semibold text-neutral-900\">24x between 2026 and 2030 to 120 quadrillion tokens per month<\/strong>, and that the inference market could expand from <strong class=\"font-semibold text-neutral-900\">$106 billion in 2025 to $255 billion by 2030<\/strong> (per the announcement). J.R.
