Santa Fe College\u00a0leaders,\u00a0faculty,\u00a0city\u00a0officials\u00a0and\u00a0other community members\u00a0gathered\u00a0on\u00a0Tuesday morning\u00a0to celebrate the groundbreaking\u00a0of an\u00a0automotive technology training center\u00a0at\u00a0the college\u2019s\u00a0Blount Center\u00a0campus in downtown\u00a0Gainesville.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

SF College first introduced plans to build the\u00a0$16 million,17,200-square-foot facility this\u00a0past fall, with sitework\u00a0beginning in April. The training center is being built\u00a0on the former site of Mauldin\u2019s Auto Glass, which closed in 2021.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to a November 2025\u00a0SF College press release, the facility \u201cis part of a larger effort to increase access to workforce education and training in the area.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
