Acer\u2019s family of handheld console-style PCs is growing with the arrival of Nitro Blaze Link, a new Linux-based device focused completely on streaming games. Because of this, it looks like a PC version of PlayStation Portal.<\/p>\n

The focus on streaming and cloud gaming is linked to current problems in gaming hardware, such as high component prices and limited supply. Nitro Blaze Link uses simpler parts that are easier to find and should cost much less.<\/p>\n

Of course, it is not really meant to compete with Steam Deck and similar devices, because it does not have real gaming hardware inside. Still, it is made to offer a good game streaming experience.<\/p>\n

A Linux Handheld in PlayStation Portal Style<\/h2>\n

Acer Nitro Blaze Link is an alternative to the other \u201cconsole\u201d devices in the same family, but it is very different from the recent Nitro Blaze 8 and Nitro Blaze 11. The fact that Nitro Blaze 11 never reached the market after being shown at CES 2026 helps explain why Acer chose a different path.<\/p>\n

Nitro Blaze Link is a device made for a time when gaming hardware is expensive and hard to get. It is focused mostly on connection features, and its specs are much lower than other gaming handhelds.<\/p>\n

The device has only 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 8 GB of eMMC storage. This makes it more basic than the older Logitech G Cloud, but its purpose is different from a normal handheld PC.<\/p>\n

Like PlayStation Portal with PS5, Nitro Blaze Link is made to stream games from another PC owned by the user or from cloud gaming services. It uses a 7-inch screen with 1920\u00d71080 resolution and WiFi 6 support.<\/p>\n
