Going back a little over a month now, we\u2019ve been tracking Google\u2019s progress towards bringing customized themes to your conversations, even letting you set your own background wallpaper. And now in Google\u2019s latest beta, it looks like this new tool is finally ready to roll out.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re looking at version messages.android_20260523_00_RC00.phone.openbeta_dynamic of the Messages app. Once Google flips the changes present in this release live, users will see the \u201cChange colors\u201d option in their chats\u2019 overflow menu replaced by a new \u201cChat themes\u201d entry:<\/p>\n<p>The ability to set a custom color palette for each chat remains, but now it\u2019s being joined by new wallpaper options. Google\u2019s hooking us up with a bunch of categories packed with ready-to-use wallpapers \u2014 or you\u2019re always welcome to choose a photo of your own.<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t like the look you\u2019ve ended up choosing, there\u2019s a reset button to wipe the slate clean and go back to the default chat appearance.
