Robinhood\u00a0said its customers can now turn some of their activity over to AI agents.<\/p>\n

The FinTech company\u00a0announced\u00a0Wednesday (May 27) the launch of Agentic Trading and the Agentic Credit Card, which allows artificial intelligence (AI) agents to make trades and credit card purchases on a customer\u2019s behalf.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur mission has always been to democratize finance for all, and now, that mission extends to AI agents,\u201d\u00a0Vlad Tenev, CEO of Robinhood, said in a news release.<\/p>\n

According to Robinhood, Agentic Trading can come up with strategies based on a user\u2019s investing and trading goals. For example, a long-term investor can have the agent analyze their portfolio for \u201cconcentration risk and sector exposure,\u201d point out \u201cwhere they\u2019re over or underweight, and execute a rebalance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Agentic Credit Card \u2014 which Robinhood says is one of the first products of its kind \u2014 lets\u00a0agents\u00a0spend on a customer\u2019s behalf by linking them to Robinhood Banking\u2019s MCP server.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring setup, you\u2019ll connect your agent to a dedicated virtual Robinhood Gold Card, set a specific spending limit that only you control and choose whether to require manual approvals or not,\u201d the release said. \u201cBy default, agents are restricted to that individual\u00a0virtual card\u00a0only, with no access to your primary credit card number or any other Robinhood account information.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an\u00a0interview\u00a0with The Wall Street Journal about these new offerings, Robinhood Vice President of Product Management\u00a0Abhishek Fatehpuria\u00a0said they are part of the company\u2019s ongoing\u00a0introduction of AI\u00a0into its services.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese AI agents for consumers have started to trade in the market,\u201d Fatehpuria said. \u201cOne thing that we\u2019ve learned from talking to our customers is that they want to give their agents the power of Robinhood, but in a very safe way.\u201d<\/p>\n
