Doha, Qatar: National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) yesterday launched \u2018Personal Data Sharing Checklist for Regulated Entities,\u2019 aimed at strengthening personal data governance and helping organisations comply with the country\u2019s data privacy legislation.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made by the Personal Data Privacy Protection Department (PDPPD), which said the checklist serves as a comprehensive guidance document designed to support organisations in managing personal data sharing activities in accordance with Law No. 13 of 2016 concerning the Protection of Personal Data Privacy (PDPPL).<\/p>\n

According to the NCSA, the checklist provides a structured and practical framework to help organisations identify lawful bases for sharing personal data, assess associated risks, implement appropriate security measures, and safeguard individuals\u2019 rights throughout the data-sharing process.<\/p>\n

The agency stated that the document outlines clear controls and procedures that regulated entities should follow before, during, and after personal data-sharing activities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This is to maintain compliance across the entire personal data lifecycle. \u201cThe Personal Data Sharing Checklist for Regulated Entities is available on the PDPPL Guidance Hub on the NCSA website,\u201d the agency said in its announcement on X, encouraging entities operating in Qatar to make use of the new resource as part of its compliance efforts.<\/p>\n

The launch forms part of the NCSA\u2019s broader strategy to strengthen privacy protection and cyber governance frameworks in Qatar as digital transformation accelerates across both the public and private sectors. NCSA has developed a range of guidelines, templates, tools, and checklists to support organisations in meeting the requirements of the PDPPL.<\/p>\n
