Anthropic\u00a0is set to close a funding round in which it could raise over $30 billion and be valued at over $900 billion, Bloomberg reported\u00a0Friday (May 22), citing unnamed sources.<\/p>\n

The artificial intelligence startup could close the round as soon as this week, though commitments are still being finalized, and the terms could change, according to the report.<\/p>\n

Anthropic did not immediately reply to PYMNTS\u2019 request for comment.<\/p>\n

According to the Bloomberg report, Anthropic expects to\u00a0more than double its quarterly revenue to $10.9 billion in the second quarter. The company also expects its annualized run rate revenue to top $50 billion by the end of June, per the report.<\/p>\n

Anthropic was valued at $380 billion\u00a0in a February Series G funding round\u00a0in which it raised $30 billion. That figure was up from the $183 billion valuation in achieved in a September Series F round in which it raised $13 billion.<\/p>\n

It was reported April 14 that the company had received offers from investors\u00a0for a new funding round that could bring its valuation to $800 billion.<\/p>\n

Two weeks later, on April 29, it was reported that Anthropic was mulling a new funding round that would value it at more than $900 billion, pushing the company past rival OpenAI to become the most valuable AI startup\u00a0in the world.<\/p>\n

On May 7, it was reported that Anthropic was weighing a funding round\u00a0in which it would raise as much as $50 billion\u00a0and be valued at $900 billion. That report said that the company was fielding inbound investment offers and that potential investors were \u201cready to throw any dollar amount at Anthropic.\u201d<\/p>\n
