Medstar is a not-for-profit emergency medical services provider owned by McLaren Healthcare Corporation, Ascension-Michigan, and Henry Ford Health System. The agency provides regional 911 emergency services, critical care, air medical, and inter-facility transport across Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Lapeer, Bay, and Genesee counties.<\/p>\n<p>During the reporting period, Medstar responded to 388 calls in Atlas Township, divided between 217 non-emergency and 171 emergency runs. Operational outcomes included 230 non-emergency transports, 71 patient refusals, 35 cancellations, 33 instances requiring no medical treatment, 12 emergency transports and five deceased. Overall response times averaged 9:22, while non-emergency responses averaged 13:35. Medical crews responded to a wide variety of situations, led most frequently by sick persons and falls, followed by psychiatric emergencies, traffic incidents, difficulty breathing, chest pain, seizures, unconscious fainting, unknown problems, hemorrhaging, traumatic injuries, and diabetic complications.<\/p>\n<p>The report highlighted several pioneering clinical and technological advancements designed to elevate patient survival rates and responder safety.
