Apple TV is home to Major League Soccer, Formula 1, and Friday Night Baseball. And this weekend, the streamer just announced it will broadcast the first major professional live sporting event shot entirely on iPhone\u00a017\u00a0Pro.<\/p>\n

Saturday\u2019s MLS match between LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo FC will be shot entirely on iPhone 17 Pro<\/h2>\n

Last fall, Apple started experimenting with using iPhone 17 Pro to shoot live sports. <\/p>\n

The first testing ground was Friday Night Baseball, with the September 26 game between the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park shot live on the brand new iPhone 17 Pro.<\/p>\n

This weekend, Apple will mark another major milestone for iPhone 17 Pro. It will be used to shoot the entirety of the MLS matchup between the LA Galaxy and Houston Dynamo FC.<\/p>\n

From Apple\u2019s press release:<\/p>\n

This Saturday, May 23, Apple TV will present a special live Major League Soccer match captured exclusively on iPhone 17 Pro \u2014 marking the first time iPhone will be used to capture the entirety of a major professional live sporting event broadcast. [\u2026]<\/p>\n

iPhone 17 Pro will capture live footage throughout the match, including team warmups on the pitch, player introductions, in-net goal angles, and the atmosphere inside the stadium. With cameras positioned throughout the venue, the broadcast will deliver the pristine video quality fans expect, alongside dynamic new perspectives that bring viewers closer to the action, made possible by the small form factor of iPhone.<\/p>\n

As Apple says, the broadcast promises to deliver \u201cthe pristine video quality fans expect\u201d while also enabling brand new perspectives not possible with larger, bulkier cameras.<\/p>\n

The first live professional sporting event captured entirely on iPhone kicks off at 7:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, May 23.<\/p>\n
