Ready to see what Google has been cooking up for Google I\/O 2026? The event starts tomorrow, May 19, with a keynote to kick things off. We\u2019re largely expecting Google to have a lot of AI-related goodies to show off, but we may also learn more about Search and other parts of its ecosystem. And while we don\u2019t expect much for Android news \u2014 Google took care of that at The Android Show I\/O Edition last week \u2014 we\u2019re sure Google will have some surprises up its sleeve.<\/p>\n

What do we know so far? Here\u2019s what we expect to come out of Google I\/O 2026.<\/p>\n

What to expect at Google I\/O 2026<\/h2>\n

Google has kept things fairly quiet this year, and leaks haven\u2019t exactly been plentiful. However, we can make some educated guesses on what we\u2019ll see at Google I\/O 2026 based on the company\u2019s current priorities and past I\/O keynotes. Google\u2019s initial I\/O 2026 announcement also gives us a few minor hints, saying to expect updates on everything \u201cfrom Gemini to Android, Chrome, Cloud, and more.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gemini AI features and improvements<\/h3>\n

Every major tech company is all-in on AI, from deploying their own models to building AI developer tools. Google has been one of the most prominent names in the game with its Gemini models, and we expect to hear a lot about what\u2019s new for Gemini and AI tools for developers at I\/O 2026.<\/p>\n

While we can\u2019t be sure exactly what Google has in store for AI announcements during its keynote, one prominent area in the industry lately is the rise of agentic AI \u2014 or discrete AI tools that can perform complex, multi-step tasks without a lot of human oversight. We expect Google may have some announcements to make around agentic AI to complement the work it\u2019s already doing there.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll also probably see some sort of update on Gemini capabilities and Google\u2019s Veo image generator. Last year, Google announced AI mode for search, Veo 3, Gemini in Chrome, AI speech translation in Google Meet, and much more. In short, expect even more AI…<\/p>\n
