The regulators identified alleged violations including <strong class=\"font-semibold text-neutral-900\">overcollection of personal information<\/strong>, <strong class=\"font-semibold text-neutral-900\">use without valid consent<\/strong>, and <strong class=\"font-semibold text-neutral-900\">shortcomings in data-subject access and correction<\/strong>, according to the report (OPC, OIPC Alberta, CAI Quebec, OIPC BC). The report examined <span class=\"font-medium text-neutral-900\">ChatGPT 3.5<\/span> and <span class=\"font-medium text-neutral-900\">ChatGPT 4<\/span> as they existed in 2023. Privacy Commissioner Philippe Dufresne is quoted saying OpenAI &#8220;launched ChatGPT without having fully addressed known privacy issues,&#8221; per IAPP.
