Google I\/O is about a week away, but if you want in on what Google is calling \u201cone of the biggest years for Android yet,\u201d you can tune in to The Android Show I\/O Edition.<\/p>\n

\n When and where to watch

The virtual event is scheduled for May 12 at 1 pm ET\/10 am PT, and is set to highlight consumer-focused announcements. <\/p>\n

You can watch The Android Show on Android\u2019s YouTube channel. <\/p>\n

\n What to expect
\n <\/h2>\n

Last year\u2019s Android Show revealed Material 3 Expressive featuring haptic feedback and an assortment of animations. We got a peek at Gemini in all-new places, including Android Auto, Wear OS, and Google TV. And we found out about new features in Android 16, like Find Hub. <\/p>\n

Right now, the iridescent Android who bops around the screen in the announcement video isn\u2019t giving anything away about what we can expect to see. Though some are speculating that his see-through look alludes to Android\u2019s version of Apple\u2019s Liquid Glass.<\/p>\n

However, Sameer Samat, president of the Android ecosystem at Google, dismissed the idea on X with the response: \u201cNot happening! Y’all are wild.\u201d<\/p>\n

Google hasn\u2019t released any info about what this year\u2019s show will entail, but we\u2019re fairly sure it should include some things about Android 17 before its expected summer release. Reportedly, Android 17 has separate volume control for Gemini, a privacy-focused contact picker, and improved multitasking.<\/p>\n

But we\u2019ll all have to watch The Android Show to find out for sure. <\/p>\n
