If you bought the right iPhone in the right window, some of that money has your name on it.<\/p>\n<p>The tech giant has agreed to settle a class-action lawsuit accusing it of false advertising. The plaintiffs say Apple sold the iPhone 16 by hyping artificial intelligence features that didn\u2019t actually work when the phones shipped.<\/p>\n<p>Eligible buyers can pocket between $25 and $95 per device. Here\u2019s what you need to know \u2014 and what to do right now so you don\u2019t get left out.<\/p>\n<h2>1. What Apple\u2019s accused of<\/h2>\n<p>Remember the slick ads in late 2024 promising a smarter, more personal Siri? The lawsuit says Apple sold the iPhone 16 based on AI features that weren\u2019t ready \u2014 and in some cases, still aren\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>Plaintiffs argued Apple sold millions of phones built around AI features that allegedly didn\u2019t exist at launch and may not arrive for years. Apple denies wrongdoing but agreed to settle anyway, saying it wants to stay focused on shipping products.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s how it usually works. Pay the fine, deny the crime.<\/p>\n<h2>2. Which iPhones qualify<\/h2>\n<p>The settlement covers seven specific models. If you bought any of these in the U.S., you may be eligible:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>iPhone 16<\/li>\n<li>iPhone 16e<\/li>\n<li>iPhone 16 Plus<\/li>\n<li>iPhone 16 Pro<\/li>\n<li>iPhone 16 Pro Max<\/li>\n<li>iPhone 15 Pro<\/li>\n<li>iPhone 15 Pro Max<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Notice what\u2019s missing. The standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus aren\u2019t on the list. Neither are older models. Only Apple Intelligence-capable devices made the cut because that\u2019s the AI feature Apple was hyping.<\/p>\n<h2>3. The purchase window matters<\/h2>\n<p>To qualify, you must have bought an eligible iPhone between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Bought yours this year? Out. Bought it before the AI announcement in mid-2024? Also out.
