Canadian app developer Rave has filed an antitrust lawsuit against Apple. According to a report by the news agency Reuters, the lawsuit alleges that the iPhone maker removed Rave\u2019s app from the App Store to reduce competition and promote its own SharePlay feature. Thereby, the Cupertino-based tech giant \u201cdenied users access to a product they enjoy\u201d<\/span> and limited cross-platform viewing experiences. The complaint was filed in a US federal court in New Jersey, with Rave seeking reinstatement and damages worth \u201chundreds of millions of dollars.\u201d<\/span>Rave claims Apple removed its app in 2025, citing \u201cdishonest or fraudulent activity,\u201d<\/span> but argues the decision was driven by competition concerns after Apple introduced SharePlay in 2021. The developer says the removal affected users by restricting their ability to watch and interact with content across different platforms, the Reuters report noted.<\/p>\n

In a statement to Reuters, Rave CEO Michael Pazaratz, said, \u201cApple\u2019s pretextual removal of Rave from the App Store has harmed consumers significantly by limiting choice and effectively preventing Apple customers from co-viewing and connecting with non-Apple customers.
