Google released a new Snapseed 4.0 photo editor on Android, one year after shipping version 3.0 on the iPhone. A version for iPhone is available as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, we\u2019re rolling out Snapseed 4.0 on Android, bringing a new look and feel, and a bunch of new tools and capabilities,\u201d Google vice president of Photos, One, and AI subscriptions Shimrit Ben-Yair tweeted.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what\u2019s new:<\/p>\n

Completely updated user interface.<\/strong> Snapseed 4.0 features a \u201cmore modern and fun\u201d user interface that makes editing faster, easier, and more powerful.<\/p>\n

New capabilities.<\/strong> The app now supports non-destructive and batch editing, Snapseed camera, and smart masking.<\/p>\n

New tools.<\/strong> Snapseed 4.0 now includes Color HSL, Dehaze, Halation, and Bloom tools.<\/p>\n

Updates to existing tools.<\/strong> The existing tools have also been updated. For example, Film now includes new styles that emulate some of the most popular historical film stocks.<\/p>\n

For those on the iPhone, Snapseed has been updated to version 4.0 and it includes the new user interface, the new Halation and Bloom tools, and other changes.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been years since I\u2019ve used Snapseed, though I was a fan at one time and will check it out again. Snapseed was originally created by a third party, Nik Software, for the iPad in 2011, and it was ported to the iPhone shortly thereafter. There was even a version for Windows, though I don\u2019t believe it\u2019s been updated in a while. Google acquired the company in 2012 and released the first Android version.<\/p>\n

You can download Snapseed 4.0 for Android from the Google Play Store and the iPhone version from the Apple App Store.<\/p>\n
