Apple no longer offers RAM upgrade options for the Mac Studio on its online store.\u00a0As a result, you can get the Mac Studio with a maximum of 96GB memory \u2014 over 5x lower than its previous maximum of 512GB.<\/p>\n

Likewise, the M4 Mac mini is now unavailable with 32GB memory.<\/p>\n

RAM shortage takes another Mac Studio configuration off the market<\/h2>\n

The DRAM and NAND supply crunch is forcing companies to cut back on memory and storage capacities on their devices. While Apple is faring better than most companies, it\u2019s not immune to the massive shortage.<\/p>\n

Due to this, it first stopped accepting orders for the M3 Ultra Mac Studio with 512GB memory. This meant you could get Apple\u2019s fastest Mac with only 256GB of memory.<\/p>\n

Soon after, users noticed lead times stretching to months for high-end Mac Studio and Mac mini models. Within days of that, Apple stopped accepting orders for these machines with a high amount of memory altogether. More recently, it pulled the base $599 Mac mini with 256GB storage from sale, increasing the lineup\u2019s starting price to $799.<\/p>\n

Now, the company has stopped accepting Mac Studio and Mac mini orders with RAM upgrades. So, you can now only get the Mac Studio with a maximum of 96GB of memory. That\u2019s 2.6x lower than the previous maximum configuration of 256GB. And even the available configurations are listed with a delivery time of 9-12 weeks.<\/p>\n

That also means the M5 Max MacBook Pro is now the highest-memory Mac you can buy. You can configure it with up to 128GB of unified memory and get it delivered in a reasonable time.<\/p>\n

High-end Mac mini configuration meets the same fate<\/h3>\n

Besides the Mac Studio, you can no longer configure the M4 Mac mini with 32GB RAM or the M4 Pro variant with 64GB RAM. The former now tops out at 24GB, while the latter is now only available with a maximum of 48GB of memory. Even…<\/p>\n
