A new beta build of Orion for Linux is available, with the v0.3 update ready for \u2018broader, real-world use and feedback\u2019, according to Kagi, the company behind it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Orion for Linux is a native GTK4\/libadwaita web browser powered by WebKitGTK, aiming for feature parity with established macOS version (platform-specific features notwithstanding). It launched an alpha in early 2026 and an initial beta in March.<\/p>\n

In the months since the last beta, Kagi say Orion for Linux has \u201cevolved into a much more capable browser\u201d with its core browsing features like tab management, a password manager, history tracking, focus mode and custom search engines working well.<\/p>\n

But compared to the March beta, Orion for Linux 0.3.0 brings content blocking (EasyList and EasyPrivacy filters), a work-in-progress download manager and an initial effort at cross-device sync, albeit locally via import\/export of profile data \u2013 cloud sync is planned.<\/p>\n

Performance stability is also said to be \u201cnoticeably more stable and responsive than in earlier builds\u201d, while some missing integrations, like ctrl + r \/ f5 shortcuts for page refreshing and ctrl + click to open links in new tabs, now implemented.<\/p>\n

As a sweetener, this beta also allows users to try Kagi search without a paid account (Kagi search is a paid search engine and forms the basis of Kagi\u2019s business model). <\/p>\n

Work on a remote sync backend (the macOS and iOS versions of Orion use iCloud), WebExtension compatibility (the macOS version supports Chrome extensions) and other areas will continue to see improvements in the months to come.<\/p>\n
