The goal is\u00a0to\u00a0help health experts with patient treatment.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-indent: 10px;\">What You Need To Know<\/h4>\n<h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Dr. Ryan Woods, a radiologist at UW Health,\u00a0uses\u00a0AI\u00a0to help analyze mammograms<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Woods said AI is helping them identify thinks that aren&#8217;t\u00a0perceptible to the human eye<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>UW Health is also using AI\u00a0to help when it comes to\u00a0patient\u00a0note-taking<\/li>\n<p><\/p>\n<li>Dr. James Bigham, a family medicine physician with UW Health, said the\u00a0technology\u00a0is called ambient listening. It transcribes the appointment so he can focus on his patient<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/h5>\n<p><span class=\"remove-embeded\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Ryan Woods, a radiologist at UW Health,\u00a0uses\u00a0AI\u00a0to help analyze mammograms.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u00a0flags that area and says, you should look at this a little more\u00a0closely and\u00a0scrutinize that and determine whether you think it needs additional imaging or not,\u201d said Woods.<\/p>\n<p>UW Health is participating in\u00a0the national PRISM Trial. PRISM stands for Pragmatic Randomized Trial of Artificial Intelligence for Screening Mammography.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Woods said about half of the scans he analyzes use this\u00a0technology.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAI\u00a0can help us identify findings that are maybe not even really perceptible to the human eye,\u201d said Woods. \u201cMaybe there\u2019s some textural difference that the\u00a0AI\u00a0algorithm has appreciated, that it, you know, determines is at risk for cancer.
