But in March, Musk wrote on X that \u201cTesla will be one of the companies to make AGI and probably the first to make it in humanoid\/atom-shaping form.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Separately, he formed xAI in 2023, which he said is pursuing AGI.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s downplayed its competitiveness with OpenAI, though, testifying that it has just a couple hundred employees and a \u201csmall market share.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would say technically competitive, but much smaller than OpenAI,\u201d Musk said Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Stuart Russell, UC Berkeley computer science professor and co-author of the standard textbook \u201cArtificial Intelligence: a Modern Approach.\u201d (Juan Mabromata\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>The three days of Musk\u2019s testimony got testy at times, particularly during Savitt\u2019s cross-examination Wednesday afternoon, when Savitt and U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers asked Musk repeatedly to answer the questions he was asked.
