The\u00a0University of Utah, joined with internal entities, including\u00a0Huntsman Cancer Institute,\u00a0today expressed deep gratitude to the State of Utah for its visionary investment in major new health and technology initiatives, including support for the Utah Health Artificial Intelligence Vault (UHAIV) and advanced computing infrastructure. The investment will enable a\u00a0new AI supercomputer that will be\u00a0accessible to\u00a0all state universities in Utah.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

Stewarding a One-of-a-Kind Public Resource\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Central to this work is UHAIV\u2014a plan to develop a secure, modern platform designed to unlock the next era of discovery from one of Utah\u2019s most extraordinary public assets, the Utah Population Database\u00a0(UPDB). For decades,\u00a0the\u00a0UPDB has supported landmark discoveries in cancer, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer\u2019s disease, and other conditions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

UHAIV will modernize the UPDB to enable\u00a0and develop\u00a0advanced AI analytics within a secure environment, while\u00a0maintaining\u00a0the highest standards of privacy, data security, and ethical oversight.\u00a0<\/p>\n
