Venkatesh Alagirisamy, who became\u00a0chief operating officer in December, announced the reductions in a memo to staff\u00a0detailing several changes &#8220;in the coming weeks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Alagirisamy wrote that the company is in the &#8220;final stretch&#8221; of the turnaround plan, dubbed its\u00a0&#8220;win now&#8221; actions, which focuses on five key areas: culture, product, marketing, marketplace, and in-person presence.<\/p>\n<p>The changes include modernizing manufacturing, reallocating resources, and reshaping Nike&#8217;s tech team, according to the memo. <\/p>\n<p>The cuts mark Nike&#8217;s second round of cuts in 2026, following the elimination of 775 distribution center jobs.<\/p>\n<p>CEO Elliott Hill told analysts in a March earnings call that the turnaround plan is taking &#8220;longer than I would like.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Read the full memo below:<\/p>\n<p>Team,NIKE, Inc. is in the final stretch of our Win Now action plan.Across the company, we have been taking deliberate steps to strengthen our foundation, sharpen how we compete, and build a model designed to deliver long-term profitable growth.
