Here, the challenge was to ensure that innovation remains an invisible ally rather than a technical burden.<strong>\u00a0Silvia Palma<\/strong>, a project manager at\u00a0EnEA\u00a0who worked closely on the Treviso pilot, explains that the\u00a0<strong>residents\u2019 feedback<\/strong>\u00a0was the actual engine of the development: \u201cSimonetta collaborated with us to help train the services and algorithms, enabling us to\u00a0<strong>personalise<\/strong>\u00a0her apartment\u2019s\u00a0<strong>comfort levels<\/strong>\u00a0and encouraging\u00a0<strong>energy flexibility<\/strong>\u00a0while strictly maintaining her\u00a0<strong>domestic well-being<\/strong>.\u201d Every morning, Simonetta receives a WhatsApp message with three simple temperature options. For her, the logic is straightforward: \u201cIt is a\u00a0<strong>very simple<\/strong>\u00a0thing that even I can understand, even though I am not technological at all and I am of a certain age.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0<strong>the path to inclusion is rarely straight<\/strong>. In the\u00a0<strong>Danish DEDALUS pilot<\/strong>\u00a0in Herning, researchers confronted a complex social reality: the attempt to engage a\u00a0<strong>multicultural neighbourhood<\/strong>\u00a0through traditional communication methods was met with near-total silence.
