launching a centre for artificial intelligence and machine learning in London, it said \u200bon Monday, as it seeks to expand \u200cits AI capabilities in pharmaceutical research and development.<\/p>\n<p>Drugmakers are increasingly turning to AI to reduce the most time-consuming aspects of drug development, from trial recruitment and site \u200cselection \u200bto regulatory paperwork, even as \u2060industry leaders acknowledge the \u2060technology has fallen short in discovering major new molecules.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 London to be company\u2019s fourth location after Austria, Germany, and U.S. specialized in using \u200badvanced computing methods, such as algorithms, data analysis, and AI to improve processes and \u2060accelerate discovery<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Focus on developing \u2060targeted medicines for patients with unmet \u200bmedical needs<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Boehringer to invest 150 million pounds ($200 \u200bmillion) over 10 years<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 \u201cThe UK has a strong \u200clegacy in AI, and the government\u2019s continued commitment to advancing data-driven innovation in life sciences and healthcare makes it an ideal location,\u201d said \u2060Paola
