However, Apple products get added to the list based on when they were discontinued from sale, not their initial release date.<\/p>\n<p>From the support document:<\/p>\n<p>Products are considered vintage when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than 5 and less than 7 years ago. [\u2026]<\/p>\n<p>Products are considered obsolete when Apple stopped distributing them for sale more than 7 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Vintage products are still eligible for service from Apple and authorized partners, provided the parts remain available.
