JAKARTA – Apple is reportedly preparing the most radical change in iPhone history through the development of a foldable screen device. Analyst and technology journalist Mark Gurman calls this device the “most significant overhaul” since the first iPhone was launched.<\/p>\n

According to Gurman, although models such as the iPhone 4, iPhone 6, and iPhone X have been important turning points, the folding iPhone will present a completely new design – not just an evolution, but a transformation.<\/p>\n

Book-like Fold Design<\/p>\n

This device is said to carry a folding concept like a book, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, with a large main screen on the inside for a wider multimedia and multitasking experience. Reports say the internal screen is about 7.7 inches in size, while the external screen is in the range of 5.3 inches.<\/p>\n

The next-generation operating system, iOS 27, is also rumored to be optimized specifically for this device. Users can later run multiple apps at once in side-by-side mode, approaching an iPad-like tablet experience.<\/p>\n

In terms of hardware, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo estimates that this device will be equipped with two rear cameras, one front camera, and a power button with Touch ID – instead of Face ID. Apple is also said to be developing a screen technology that can minimize creases, although it has not completely eliminated them.<\/p>\n

Regarding price, it is predicted that this folding iPhone will not be pocket-friendly. In the United States market, the price tag is estimated to start from US$1,999 or even more, placing it in the extreme premium segment.<\/p>\n

Apple is likely to introduce this device in September, along with the latest Pro line. However, the launch schedule to the market could be a little behind compared to other models.<\/p>\n

If it is realized, the folding iPhone is not just a new product – this could be a “reset” moment for the smartphone industry, where Apple is again trying to redefine the way we interact with everyday devices.<\/p>\n
