The strikes caused structural damage to the company\u2019s infrastructure, impairing cloud services for those countries.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Iran warned that US tech companies with Israeli links, including Google, Microsoft, Palantir, Nvidia and Oracle, were on Tehran\u2019s list of \u201clegitimate targets\u201d for countermeasures.<\/p>\n<p>Strikes on data centres in West Asia matter far beyond their blast radius. The implications are profound for Southeast Asia, a region aspiring to be a digital and <span data-qa=\"Component-Text\" class=\"css-0 ef9u0v00\">artificial intelligence (AI) hub<\/span> and which has sought to insulate itself from the scrappy blows of geopolitics.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">As technological shifts substantially reshape the nature of conflict, the targeting of digital infrastructure \u2013 including privately owned data centres \u2013 was always only going to be a matter of time in an active conflict.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The convergence of AI-powered data analytics, cloud storage and military operations means that in highly digitised societies, the line between economic disruption and strategic jeopardy can be indiscernible.
