Planetary Annihilation: TITANS has returned with a new community team working on updates, and they need Linux user help to get it fixed up.<\/p>\n

Back in February, they details in an announcement how a new team of “Community Commanders” are working on some significant updates to Planetary Annihilation: Titans. They’re also working to migrate and improve the server system used by the game.<\/p>\n

The first of those updates has rolled out with numerous changes, however there’s a number of problems in the Linux version and so they’re calling for backup:<\/p>\n

Linux Support – Calling all Linux Commanders!<\/h4>\n

We need your help testing Linux support for PA. <\/p>\n

The transition to our new build and release pipeline shifted some dependencies. As a result, the Linux version may fail to launch for some players, while others may be able to launch but cannot start or play a game. <\/p>\n

We\u2019re investigating the cause, and we\u2019re aware that the issue is not resolved in the latest release. <\/p>\n

Regardless of whether the game works or fails on your system, if you\u2019re running PA on Linux we\u2019d greatly appreciate it if you could send us your game logs and your system specifications to the support channel in discord.<\/p>\n

Our Community Commanders currently represent only a small portion of Linux users. We want to provide robust Linux support, but we need more real-world data from the community. <\/p>\n

Your reports will help us identify the problem faster and improve Linux support. Thank you! <\/p>\n

In my own attempts at testing it, the game failed to launch on Fedora KDE 43 so I’ve sent over my logs. Hopefully their community team will be able to track down the cause of it not launching. Would be great to see such a grand-scale RTS like Planetary Annihilation: TITANS get a new life.<\/p>\n
