OKLAHOMA CITY –<\/span><\/p>\n

At the Oklahoma City Museum of Art there are lots of really cool exhibitions, but today they are making art and making memories.<\/p>\n

It was a day of learning to appreciate art for the clients at EOC Technology Center in Choctaw.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, we take care of individuals with disabilities and our aging senior population,\u201d said Joel Bain with EOC Technology Center in Choctaw.<\/p>\n

For caretakers, the center provides a safe place for their loved ones when they can\u2019t be there.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, we provide respite care, for families that need to work, that need to take care of their land, that just truly need some time to take care of their needs,\u201d said Bain.<\/p>\n

One of their activities is a quarterly trip to the museum.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey get to come, take a tour of the museum, socialize, meet other people, and then create so art that they get to take with them,\u201d said Jackie Nelson, art teacher with the Oklahoma City Museum of Art.<\/p>\n

The program is called Making Memories, and it is accomplishing just that.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou paint anyway you want; there\u2019s no wrong way to do it,\u201d said Nelson.<\/p>\n

Many of the artists were locked into their work, while others had concerns, well, of more importance.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s J-dub, J-Will, Andrew Wiggins, Chet Holmgren,\u201d said EOC client Kyle.<\/p>\n

As the class went on, Sarah taught me that it doesn\u2019t take sight to create a masterpiece.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, I want the tip white, and then, center piece yellow,\u201d said EOC client Sarah.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re able to create and have fun with everything that they do,\u201d said Bain.<\/p>\n
