Microsoft said on Tuesday it is reorganising its Copilot teams by \u200bunifying its commercial and consumer versions, as the tech giant rushes \u200cto improve its artificial intelligence assistant to drive better \u200badoption.<\/p>\n

Strong reception for Google\u2019s Gemini and the launch \u2060of autonomous agents such as Anthropic\u2019s viral Claude Cowork have posed risks both to Microsoft\u2019s AI business and broader software offerings, as the \u200ccompany races to boost adoption and usage of Copilot.<\/p>\n

The restructuring will free up Microsoft\u2019s AI chief, Mustafa Suleyman, \u200cenabling the industry veteran to focus more sharply \u200con building \u2060new AI models and drive the company\u2019s \u2060superintelligence efforts.<\/p>\n

Jacob Andreou, who has served as the corporate vice president of product and growth at Microsoft AI since last year, will lead the company\u2019s Copilot \u200befforts across consumer and commercial, \u200cMicrosoft said.<\/p>\n

Senior executives Ryan Roslansky, Perry Clarke and Charles Lamanna will lead M365 apps and the Copilot platform.<\/p>\n

The reorganisation will \u201cenable me to focus all my energy on our Superintelligence \u200cefforts and be able to deliver world class models \u200bfor Microsoft over the next five years,\u201d Suleyman said.<\/p>\n

Consumer Copilot experiences, which span chat, news, \u2060search, shopping and operating system integrations, have seen daily app users nearly triple year over year, CEO Satya Nadella said during Microsoft\u2019s \u200cearnings call in January.<\/p>\n

M365 Copilot, the $30-per-month AI assistant aimed at business users, has reached 15 million annual users, Nadella added.<\/p>\n

The Windows maker\u2019s partnership with OpenAI, which powers most of its AI offerings including M365 Copilot, was once seen as its strongest competitive edge, but the startup now accounts for roughly 45%…<\/p>\n
