This update is not all about the security, however, OnePlus di dinclude some other changes here.

OnePlus is rolling out its March 2026 Android update to the OnePlus 13

Before we get to that, do note that the update is marked as OxygenOS 16.0.5.701, and it started to roll out in India. Knowing OnePlus, rollouts in other regions will start soon if they haven’t already by the time you’re reading this. The changelog will likely be identical.

This update adds the “Automatically open received files” switch. In other words, you’ll be able to choose whether to automatically open shared files upon receipt.

You’ll also be able to start multiple timers simultaneously following this update. That should improve multitasking for some. Timers now also display estimated stop times, which is another useful feature.

Content Portal now supports app clones

OnePlus’ Content Portal will support app clones once you install this update. The last entry in the changelog mentions that the Motion cues feature has been added. It reduces motion sickness when you use your phone in vehicles. It’s located in the accessibility menu.

That is pretty much it. These are not earth-shattering features, but they will surely be useful to some people. If you add a security bump on top of that, this is a rather nice update.

Even when the update starts rolling out in your region, do note that it’s rolling out in stages, just like any other update from the company. In other words, you’ll need to be patient as it may not land on your phone straight away.

The OnePlus 13 is no longer the latest and greatest from the company, but it’s still an outstanding phone that will be supported for quite some time. OnePlus promised 4 major Android OS upgrades when it launched, and it arrived with Android 15 out of the box.

Source

OnePlus 13 Gets March Update With a Few Unexpected Tricks Up Its Sleeve https://www.androidheadlines.com/2026/03/oneplus-13-gets-march-update-with-a-few-unexpected-tricks-up-its-sleeve.html Publish…

[46
83,57
post-227030","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-android","tag-oneplus","tag-security
